"When You Close Tus Ojos" weaves comedic scenes, ancestral stories, and haunting tales to create a story that celebrates the multiplicity of Latin American identities in the Cleveland community. Straight from seminary, Juan thinks he's ready to lead a community, but he was not expecting to have to officiate at three funerals on his first day on the job! His bumbling and naive attempts to connect to the people lead him through a bizarre, hilarious and life changing day. Created and written by CPT's Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan and the ensemble cast of amateur and professional performers "Cuando Cierras Your Eyes" is a joyful and poignant celebration of life and connection to community. CPT introduces a new program that seeks to involve amateur and professional artists from the local Latin American community in creating original theatre.

Teatro Público de Cleveland is a pilot program of Cleveland Public Theatre. 
The program was created to support the growth of a Cleveland-based Latin American theatre ensemble, whose work will reflect the artistic goals, interests and ideals of its members.
NOV 8th & NOV 9th
6pm: live music, food and a gallery exhibition by local Latin American artists
7pm: presentation of Cuando Cierras Your Eyes, performed by Teatro 
Público de Cleveland
8pm: a dance party featuring local DJs spinning Latin hits, delicious food and a cash bar
